Property tax protest takes over Indiana Whiskey Company

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A property tax protest taking over the Indiana Whiskey Company on West Sample Street today, as dozens of people packed in to hear from Tim Cotton.

Cotton is the Chair of the Saint Joseph Libertarian Party, and the person in charge of helping people with appeals for their property taxes.

He tells ABC57 today's event goes beyond political parties, instead focusing on keeping people in their homes.

"This event, was, wasn't just for one party. It was for all people to be able to come in and say, I need help. Can you help me with this? I don't care whether they're Democrat, Republican, Independent, Libertarian, Green Party. It, it doesn't matter. I want them to have the opportunity and the chance to file their appeal so they can, you know, so they can stay in their homes," stated Cotton.

The deadline is tomorrow for property tax appeals, with Cotton telling us that if you haven't already, you must do so by tonight.
