UPDATE TWO:  The Berrien County Sheriff's Office confirmed this morning that despite life-saving measures, the seven-year-old from South Bend died.

UPDATE: The 7-year-old boy has been found nearly an hour after the search began. 

First responders performed C.P.R along with other life-saving measures at the scene. 

The boy has been transported to the hospital for further treatment. 

ORIGINAL STORY: ST. JOSEPH, Mich. --- Berrien County Dispatch confirming a search is underway for a missing boy at Silver Beach. 

Berrien County Sheriff's Office and the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety are actively searching for the child since 9 p.m. Monday night.
