Police searching for suspect in stabbing at McDonald's in Warsaw

WARSAW, Ind. - The man accused of stabbing a victim at a McDonald's in Warsaw on Monday has been arrested.

On Tuesday, dispatch received tips about the location of 48-year-old John Edward Robinson, leading police to a vacant residence near South Union Street and West Winona Avenue.

Investigators found the residence in the 400 block of S. Union St. and discovered signs of forced entry.

Robinson was found hiding in a closet at the residence and was taken into custody without incident, reports said.

Police found a folding knife and a fixed blade knife on his person, according to reports.

Officers found another folding knife in his personal property, reports said.

Robinson was arrested on the charge of residential entry. A Prosecutor's Hold from the Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney's Office was placed on him in connection with the stabbing investigation.

Later in the investigation, law enforcement spoke with the property owner of the house on South Union Street and confirmed no one was given permission to be inside.

On Monday, police were notified of a victim that had driven himself to the Kosciusko County Justice Building to get help after allegedly being stabbed.

Surveillance footage from a McDonald's in the 300 block of N. Detroit St. showed two people arguing on the west side of the restaurant before one of them is stabbed with what is believed to be a knife.

The alleged suspect, identified as Robinson, was then seen leaving the scene.
