Communicating storm damage at risk in Fulton County
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend police responded to multiple instances of shots-fired Sunday morning near Cherry Street and Western Avenue, according to St. Joe County Dispatch.
Police were in an official vehicle around 12 a.m. when they were shot at, according to dispatch. No injuries were reported.
ABC57's Dante Stanton arrived on the scene around 3:10 a.m. to learn more information about the situation. Officers at the location confirmed that the scene had been cleared and that they were present for a different situation.
Shortly after, gunshots rang out in the area.
Officers on-scene moved underneath the nearby overpass at Walnut Street and Western Avenue as several other cruisers arrived.
From there, multiple officers were seen exiting their vehicles; some of them carrying rifles.
Several squad cars then left the scene with emergency lights on.
Officials confirmed that while shots were fired, no arrests have been made and none were injured.
