Police respond to multiple crashes on U.S. 20 Bypass Thursday morning

UPDATE: As of 12:45 p.m., the St. Joseph County Police Department has responded to over two dozen slide-off and collisions. 

"Since 5 a.m., we have responded to at least 28 crashes and slide-offs. The good news, things seem to be slowing down," SJCPD said. "Let’s keep it that way."

ORIGINAL: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Police say they have responded to at least eight calls for slide offs and crashes on the U.S. 20 Bypass since 5 a.m., Thursday.

Authorities say no serious injuries have been reported at this time.

The Indiana Department of Transportation map showed the eastbound lanes of the bypass were at a standstill from Crumstown Highway to Mayflower Road at around 8:30 a.m.
