BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich.—A man was injured in a shooting Tuesday night in Benton Township according to the Benton Charter Township Police Department.
Officers were sent to the 100 block of Concord, at the Blossom Acres Apartments, for reports of a shooting on August 27 around 8:30 p.m.
At the scene, officers found 41-year-old Demario Gunn with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and required surgery.
Witnesses told police that they heard several gunshots and that the vehicle the victim was driving, a 2008 Dodge Caliber, started to roll away from the scene and crashed into a curb on Concord.
Police are searching for a suspect, who is described as an unknown man with a handgun.
The incident remains under investigation.
