Police identify victim of shooting on Prairie Avenue

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The South Bend Police Department identified the victim of a shooting in the 2600 block of Prairie Avenue Thursday evening.
Police identified the victim as 15-year-old Donnie Gray, Jr.
Gray was pronounced dead at the scene.
A juvenile suspect was taken into custody and is being held at the Juvenile Justice Center. The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against the suspect for criminal acts that led up to the shooting, reports said.
The investigation is being handled by the South Bend Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit.
An autopsy will be performed on Saturday in Kalamazoo.
Gray was a former student of the South Bend Community School Corporation.
