Police arrest suspects accused of entering vehicles in St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH, Mich.—Two suspects were arrested after a report was made to police regarding vehicles being entered in St. Joseph.

At about 2:20 a.m. on October 7, officers with the St. Joseph Township Police Department were called to the area of Brownway Road regarding suspicious people entering and attempting to enter vehicles.

Police did not specify whether or not the vehicles were locked or unlocked.

The caller provided officers with surveillance video and police began a search for the suspects.

Two suspects were eventually apprehended by police and K-9s in a wooded area near Seneca Road and Cherokee Trail.

Charles Elontae-Chavonteru Jones, 18, was arrested and taken to the Berrien County Jail.

A 16-year-old male was also arrested and then released from custody to his mother.

Police believe the arrests are related to a multiple incidents of vehicles being entered in St. Joseph.
