Plymouth High School hosting 'Rockin' Rockies' field day for those with special needs

PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- Plymouth High School will host the "Rockin' Rockies" event for people with special needs from 9:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. on their football field May 10.

Organizers say this event is planned around special needs and for special needs.

"It is an opportunity for them to come, see friends, have fun and be themselves," said Plymouth Schools' Director of Communications and Marketing Lauren LaFaive. "Last year 13 schools and organizations joined us. We had about 360 people at the Rockpile, and we are so excited to welcome them back!"

LaFaive says the event will have inflatables, dancing, dunk tank, arcade games, yard games, face-painting, balloons, tug-o-war, ice cream, a Parade of Champions and much more.

"It's like a big field day just for these students, with events and activities that cater to what they need," LaFaive said.

"Our Applied Skills teacher, Tammie Radican, is so amazing with these kids and aims to honor them in every way she can. She can answer any questions about the event and would be a great interview, of course along with some of our special needs students who will be so excited already--and even more excited to see you!"
