WALKERTON, Ind. -- An Owens Corning facility in Walkerton will close completely by late October according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Notice sent out on July 21.

Owens Corning's business involves roofing, insulation, and doors, and this facility's closure will leave 130 people jobless. The workers are not part of a union.

The employees will be let go on or about Sept. 19, through Oct. 2.

The notice states some employees will be retained to assist with the plant's wind down. The final employees will be let go by Oct. 29.

The notice adds that the closure is expected to be permanent.
