Over 220 animals seized from Cass County residence Wednesday morning

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports officers with the Cass County Animal Control conducted a search warrant in the 2500 block of Lilac Avenue in Howard Township around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The report states the search resulted in the seizure of over 220 animals, including dogs, ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, doves, frogs, gerbils, fish, a crawfish, and a snapping turtle.
Authorities say the animals were taken to a safe location and given necessary medical treatment and care.
The suspect’s name is withheld pending charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
