One-year-old boy run over by lawnmower in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Elkhart County Dispatch confirmed to ABC57 News, at around 8:10 a.m. on Wednesday, they got a call for a one-year-old boy that had been run over by a riding lawnmower in the 59000 block of C.R. 37.

Authorities say a Medflight helicopter from South Bend was sent to the scene and the boy was taken to Riley Children’s Hospital.

First responders say the boy was conscious and breathing when they arrived on scene.

Elkhart County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
