One killed near Phillips 66 in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department confirms one person was shot on the 4000 block of Western Avenue.
Police were called to the area of the Phillips 66 gas station around 12:50 a.m. Thursday for a report of a robbery.
When officers arrived, they found one person with gunshot wounds.
The South Bend Police Violent Crimes Unit is now investigating.
