One injured after crash in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- One person was injured after a crash that occurred on County Road 131 at 3:23 p.m.

Jonathan B. King was heading northbound on County Road 131 when he entered and exited a curve, losing control of his vehicle.

He then left the roadway and struck an embankment, overturning the car.

He was injured with seat belt abrasions and abrasions on his arms, legs, and torso.

He also had a fractured/dislocated right ankle.

He was trapped until Middlebury EMS freed him. He was then transported to Goshen Hospital for treatment.

A large quantity of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia was found.

He failed a drug recognition evaluation and had blood drawn. Toxicology is pending for his blood and drug items.

A case report will be sent to the Prosecutor's Office for consideration of charges for operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
