BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Benton Township Police confirm a 22-year-old man from Benton Harbor was shot in the chest near the intersection of Broadway Street and Emery Street.
Michigan State Police and the Benton Township Police Department were at the scene of a large party when they heard gunshots in a nearby field at 2 a.m.
They arrived to find that victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He later died at the hospital from his injuries.
Investigators say they believe there were multiple witnesses to the shooting as hundreds of people were at the nearby party, although no suspects have been named at this time.
