UPDATE: Chikaming Township Police have identified the victim as 72-year-old Paul Rizzo of Lakeside (Chikaming Township).

Officials say the car involved was reported as being on fire and occupied.

Officers were told that an Amtrak train traveling south struck a vehicle traveling west at the East Road crossing.

Rizzo was the only person in the car.

The crash remains under investigation.

BERRIEN COUNTY, Ind. -- One person is dead after a crash between a train and a vehicle in Berrien County.

Chikaming Township Police tell ABC57 it happened around 10 a.m. August 18 at the crossing of East Road, off of Red Arrow Highway.
