One dead after car splits in half following crash in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Baugo Township Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning on Ash Road, south of C.R. 26.

Police reports show that a 2004 Chevy Malibu was traveling south at 9:09 a.m. on Ash Road at a high velocity when the car ran off westside of the road and struck multiple trees.

After striking the trees, the car split in half and the driver, 38-year-old Sasha Kenyon of Marcellus, was ejected from the vehicle.

She was pronounced dead at the scene from internal injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
