Notre Dame to host Building Trades Day for local high school students

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The University of Notre Dame announced, in partnership with the Michiana Area Construction Advancement Fund, St. Joseph Valley Building Trades, South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Greater Niles Chamber of Commerce, it will host Building Trades Day from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday on campus at Stepan Center.
Officials say this will be the event's second year in a row offering area high school students an opportunity to explore career paths in the trades through conversations and hands-on activities with contractors and trades people, as well as tours of campus construction sites.
Organizers say 80 local contractors, trades organizations, and training partners, including Amazon Web Services, Ivy Tech Community College, Habitat for Humanity, Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 172, and HRP Construction will be in attendance.
The public is welcome to attend the event from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
