ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - Students at Notre Dame grabbed their tennis shoes and rain jackets Monday night to climb the stairs of Notre Dame Stadium in honor of the first responders who had to climb 110 flights of stairs to save those stuck at the top floors of the Twin Towers during the terror attacks on September 11, 2001.
The event, called ND110, also looks to represent the unity the country felt after the devastating attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people.
All proceeds from the event support Heart 9/11 and its efforts to help communities rebuild after natural or man-made disasters.
