NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The Notre Dame football team will be traveling to Columbus, Ohio on Friday in preparation for the season opener against Ohio State on Saturday.
The Irish are major underdogs going into the primetime matchup against the number 2 Buckeyes.
Some players do not seem at all intimidated by Ohio State.
"You look at anybody on the defense between fifth year to freshman, everybody’s on the same page. You look at their eyes and there’s one thing, whether that’s because we’re playing Ohio State or not, we been locked in. We been focused. We been ready to work since day one," said Jayson Ademilola, a defensive lineman.
Head Coach Marcus Freeman will be facing his alma mater in his first regular season game.
Freeman played four seasons for the Buckeyes before being drafted into the NFL.
We'll have an ABC57 Kickoff special on ABC57 at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
The game will air at 7:30 p.m. September 3 on ABC57. A special post-game Kickoff show will air after the game.
