SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard is passionate about giving back, and you could even say helping others is in his blood.
Twenty years ago, Leonard's grandfather Gib Leonard traveled to Africa with his church group, and it changed the course of his life.
Gib and his wife, Leigh, went on to create the Buy a Brick Foundation, a nonprofit to build schools and clinics in Zimbabwe.
"It is great for us to go and preach the gospel and all that sort of thing. But look at these starving children. These kids sit underneath trees to go to school. They don't have any books, they don't have any pencils, they don't have shoes," said Gib.
They also provide the tools necessary for children to receive the best education possible.
Since 2004, Buy a Brick Foundation has built 40 schools and helped provide healthcare for thousands of villagers.
