INDIANAPOLIS—The 2020 NFL Combine is underway in Indianapolis at the Lucas Oil Stadium.
Three of the nine Notre Dame Football players invited to attend the scouting event were inside of the stadium on Thursday trying to impress the pro scouts.
Wide receivers Chase Claypool and Chris Finke participated in the bench press on Wednesday where they did 19 and 7 reps respectively.
Tight end Cole Kmet chose not to participate in the bench press in favor of waiting to do it until pro-day.
Kmet said it’s because of a minor shoulder injury and he wants to let that fully heal rather than run back in.
There’s talk that Kmet could either go late in the first round of the NFL draft or early in the second round to potential teams like the New England Patriots or the Chicago Bears.
“You definitely watch Gronk, he’s one of the greatest tight ends of all time. I definitely watch how he plays. I think there are some similarities. So I definitely try and model my game after him,” Kmet said.
