ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. –– The upcoming 2020 NFL Draft slated for April 23-25 is sure to feature a handful of Notre Dame hopefuls. Even so, there is one prospect who might not be selected –– running back Tony Jones Jr.
Executive Director of the Senior Bowl Jim Nagy said he believes Jones will either be drafted on the final day of the draft, or he will be a high-priority free agent for some teams.
“It surprised me that he left to be quite honest with you. I know that running back is a position that if guys do leave early, i think we all understand it because of the nature of the position and the pounding they take, but it did surprise me a little that he decided to come out," Nagy said.
Round one of the draft begins Thursday at 8 p.m. EST.
