Program teaches Starke County inmates woodworking; furniture available for purchase

STARKE COUNTY, Ind. – A program is teaching Starke County inmates basic woodworking and math skills.

Starke County F.A.R.M offers several programs for inmates including a vocational woodworking program.

F.A.R.M stands for Foster a Recovery Mentality. The program, established in 2016, helps inmates feel a sense of self-worth,  aids substance abuse recovery and provides life skills.

Starke County Jail is taking orders on pieces. All orders must be prepaid with delivery offered the following week.

Furniture is on display in the Justice Center’s lobby.

Prices are as follows:

  • Large Bench $70
  • Large Rocker $60
  • Bench $45
  • Adirondack Chair $40
  • Beach Chair $32
  • Child’s Chair $15
