BENTON HARBOR, Mich – A new Benton Harbor Area Schools resource center is geared towards helping families succeed.
“I think it’s a trickle-down effect when parents and families have the resources and tools to impact their children we see the benefits of that in school,” Benton Harbor Area Schools Community Engagement Coordinator Traci Burton said.
The family center will provide classes and workshops for parents about financial literacy, mental health resources and curriculum understanding.
The goal of the center is by providing parents with the necessary tools to succeed that their children will excel.
The center opens Tuesday September 3, 2019.
The hours for the center are Monday through Friday 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with some weekend hours to be determined later.
The center received assistance from Kitchen Aid and Benton Harbor Are Schools alumni to provide the resources and to set-up the center.
