GOSHEN, Ind.—A new art supply store, gallery, classroom and event space is coming to downtown Goshen.
Meraki Art Company is set to open at 211 S. Main Street on July 16.
A ribbon cutting will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, at which point art work will be unveiled. Doors will be open 5 to 9 p.m. for the community to meet artists, the founders and buy art supplies.
The store’s regular hours of operation will start the next day and will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The store will be open later for First Fridays events to support the downtown area’s festivities.
Meraki Art Company will also host events that sponsor its non-profit, which will provide low-income children with discounted art supplies, according to co-founder Alexei Elder.
The store is planning events for the month of August including a Sunday Wine and Canvas event in the gallery, which will be hosted by local fine arts.
“Goshen’s downtown community is a vibrant, creative and close-knit community. When businesses struggled during COVID, Goshen did everything in their power to help them change and lift them. The fellow downtown businesses have created a sort of inclusivity that has made us feel welcome and loved since day one,” Elder said.
