Navarre Cabin Roof Replacement by The History Museum

SAINT JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. --On Jul. 26-27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can get hands-on experience installing an oak shake roof, in a two-day workshop at the historic Navarre Cabin at The History Museum in South Bend.

Participants get to learn how to remove and properly install new wood shake roof in this event, led by Steve Hartley of Heritage Trades Partners and Heritage Trades expert, David Gibney.

No previous skills are required for this, but attendees are advised to wear clothes that can get dirty, closed-toed shoes, long pants and gloves; and all other materials will be provided.

It's important to note that due to the hands-on activities required to participate, this workshop is not accessible to all.

All attendees should feel comfortable with heights, have the ability to climb a ladder, and the ability to work on a roof or scaffolding.
