ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police Department reports officers responded to 100 Joyce Ct. and E Jackson Boulevard around 6:55 p.m. Monday for a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle.

Authorities' initial investigation determined a Mercury Mariner, driven by a 20-year-old woman, turned west onto E Jackson Boulevard from the stop sign at Joyce Court.

The report states that's when the Mariner was struck by a motorcycle, ridden by a 42-year-old man, traveling east.

The woman was uninjured and remained on scene, while the man was taken to the hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, including broken bones and a large laceration.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
