ROCHESTER, Ind. -- Dozens of motorcycles roared through town Saturday as part of the 5th annual ride organized to support families who have lost a child to suicide.
The event, hosted by the nonprofit [organization name if available], featured a one-hour group ride, meals, raffles, auctions, and free children’s activities. Beyond the fundraising, organizers said the goal is to raise awareness about suicide prevention and encourage open conversations that help reduce stigma.
Since launching four years ago, the nonprofit has distributed more than $11,000 to nine families to help with funeral expenses and other immediate needs.
“This is about making sure families know they aren’t alone,” one participant said, adding that the community’s support offers comfort in a time of overwhelming grief.
Attendees emphasized the importance of addressing suicide directly and compassionately, sharing personal experiences and highlighting how events like this bring people together in remembrance and hope.
