SOUTH BEND, Ind -- A house fire is under investigation in the 2500 block of South Michigan Street in South Bend.

The South Bend Fire Department was originally called for a residential fire around 1:30 a.m. Friday and got the fire under control within 10 minutes. Crews arrived to find flames and smoke coming from the building.

The fire captain told ABC57 that several fires have started at the house, which is vacant, and that this property has been a repeat issue. The fire department says due to previous damage sustained from fires, holes in the floor created dangerous conditions for firefighters.

Nobody was injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
