More bottled water pick-up dates available for City of Benton Harbor residents

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Health & Human Services has released additional dates and locations for City of Benton Harbor residents to pick up free bottled water for drinking.

Residents can pick up free bottled water on the following days:

Saturday, Oct. 9

  • Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency, 331 Miller Street, Benton Harbor
    • 10 a.m. – Noon
  • God’s Household of Faith, 275 Pipestone, Benton Harbor
    • 1 – 4 p.m.
  • MDHHS Berrien County Office, 401 8th Street, Benton Harbor
    • 4 – 6 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 10

  • Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency, 331 Miller Street, Benton Harbor
    • 10 a.m. – Noon
  • MDHHS Berrien County Office, 401 8th Street, Benton Harbor
    • 4 – 6 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 11

  • MDHHS Berrien County Office, 401 8th Street, Benton Harbor
    • 4 – 6 p.m.

Bottled water is being made available out of an abundance of caution and should be used for cooking, drinking, brushing teeth, rinsing foods, and mixing powdered infant formula.

Residents who get their water bill from Benton Charter Township do not need to pick up bottled water, as the township’s water is in full compliance with state and national drinking water regulations and is safe to drink and use.

Residents can also schedule drop-offs through the Berrien County Health Department water hotline at 800-815-5485, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
