Monticello man injured when tree falls on vehicle on State Road 25
FULTON COUNTY, Ind. - A Monticello man was injured on Monday when a tree fell on his vehicle, according to Indiana State Police.
At 4:13 p.m., state troopers and deputies with the Fulton County Sheriff's Department responded to a one-vehicle crash in the 9500 block of S. State Road 25.
The investigation found that a 22-year-old Monticello man was driving a 2021 Ford F150 Supercrew pickup truck south on S.R. 25 when a tree on the west side of the road fell on top of the truck, trapping the driver inside.
The driver was extricated from the vehicle and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
At last check, the driver was talking and alert, police said.
A storm with heavy winds was passing through the area at the time of the incident.
S.R. 25 was closed for approximately two-and-a-half hours, during which time crews removed the tree.
