ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast

Saturday, November 8th, 2025

An active weather pattern begins tonight as showers move in later this evening around sunset. As temperatures cool overnight, rain will gradually turn into snow at some time going into Sunday morning. Any snow that falls overnight through tomorrow morning will likely not stick on the pavement, due to above freezing ground temperatures. During the day on Sunday, it will be cold and breezy before another round of snow comes into the picture—but this time, by way of Lake Effect.

As low pressure bringing the rain/snow showers passes, northerly winds will trigger Lake Effect snow Sunday night through Monday morning. Here is when the chance for snow accumulation is more likely, as temperatures overnight will dip below freezing, cooling ground temperatures. A Winter Storm Watch will be in effect from 4PM Sunday to 7PM Monday for the following counties—Berrien, Cass, La Porte, St. Joseph (IN), Starke, and Marshall. A north to south wind orientation will flow over the lake, allowing for snow bands to impact western counties of Michiana. Some snow bands have the potential of reaching further inland. Areas that receive little to no snowfall, you can still expect cold and gusty conditions, with wind chill values in the 20s and teens.

We are still not anticipating copious accumulation on the roads Monday morning, but driving conditions for the morning and evening commute will be poor, likely due to slushy road surfaces. Winds shift to become westerly Monday evening to ultimately turn off the Lake Effect machine. While low precip. chances linger through midweek, temperatures slowly return to normal to end the week, with drier conditions.

Tonight: Rain then mixed precip/snow. Low 34.

Sunday: Gusty, cloudy morning, lake effect mixed precip./snow through afternoon. High 38.

Monday: Lake Effect Snow, slushy/icy morning commute. High 36.

Tuesday (Veterans Day): Lingering chance for snow showers, mostly cloudy. High 70.
