Goshen man accused in child sex crimes charged with Sexual Battery

GOSHEN, Ind. -- A 37-year-old man is charged with Sexual Battery after allegedly placing a minor's hand on his genitals and offering to exchange money for photos of the victim.

The suspect, Jose Escoto Santiago, has been charged with two counts of Sexual Battery as Level 6 Felonies and one count of Possession of Child Pornography as a Level 6 Felony.

Officers with the Goshen Police Department took a report on April 4 of a minor having been sexually assaulted.

In a later interview with the victim, Santiago was accused of showing them erotic pictures, exposing his genitals, offering money to them for photos or videos, and placing their hand on his genitals.

Officers found Santiago at his residence on Monday before taking him into custody for questioning and then being charged.

Santiago's initial hearing has been set for April 21.
