OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. -- A retired South Bend Fire Department captain is now on house arrest after being taken into custody late last year in Michigan.
Stewart Russell was booked into the Oakland County Jail on December 12, 2025. He faces three charges of criminal sexual misconduct, including one charge involving a victim under the age of 13, according to court records.

Russell has since been released from custody and placed on house arrest. He has a pretrial hearing scheduled for May 5.
