Mishawaka Police investigating report of stolen vehicle, shots fired

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The Mishawaka Police Department is investigating an incident involving a stolen vehicle and shots fired in the 5400 block of Ottawa Ct. on Wednesday morning.

At 4:29 a.m., police were on scene taking a report from a victim who said his vehicle was stolen.

While on scene, officers were told the stolen vehicle was located just down from the apartment and the suspects were still in the area.

As the officers were looking for the vehicle, they heard and observed approximately eight shots fired, reports said.

Officers moved to cover and saw a female moving towards them.

The female told officers she was shot at and her vehicle got shot up, according to reports.

No injuries were reported at the scene.

Dispatch was told that a female stated she had a graze wound to the head but this has not been confirmed at this time.

The officers approached the area of the shots fired and didn’t locate the suspects.

The suspects left the scene in a dark sedan traveling westbound on Douglas Road, reports said.

This case is currently under investigation.
