Mishawaka man charged with child solicitation

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A Mishawaka man has been charged for trying to get a 13-year-old girl, who is a relative, to have sex with him, according to court documents.

Robert Quinn has been charged with one count of child solicitation.

In June 2020, a woman met with Mishawaka Police after her 13-year-old daughter forwarded her a text message from Quinn, that referenced sexual activity, according to the probable cause affidavit.

The St. Joseph County Special Victims Unit took over the investigation and spoke with the victim on the same day.

She told investigators in December 2019 and recently, Quinn wanted her to do something to her, but she didn’t want to do it, reports said.

She said over Facebook Messenger, Quinn asked for naked photos of her, according to the probable cause affidavit.

The victim told police Quinn touched her buttocks over her clothing two days before, reports said. And three to four days ago he touched her “private area,” according to the probable cause affidavit.

The victim said Quinn sent her multiple pictures of his genitals, according to the probable cause affidavit.

When the victim turned over her phone for a forensic analysis, police discovered multiple texts from Quinn to the victim about sex, reports said.

Quinn’s old cell phone was forensically analyzed and they located photos of a man’s genitals, reports said.

Quinn has not been arrested. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact Crime Stoppers at 800-342-STOP.
