GOSHEN, Ind. -- Goshen based Miller Poultry is joining Martin's Supermarkets to help food banks across the Hoosier State.
The 'Food Bank of Northen Indiana' serves six counties here in Michiana, and they want to make sure families that are struggling financially have a full fridge and feast for the holiday.
The food bank provides supplies to multiple soup kitchens and non-profits, and being able to help people in the communities is something they say warms their hearts as well.
"What is really humbling as well is that the people that will receive this, you know, there will be tears that they will be happy that they're getting it. It goes with our vision to provide healthy and nutritious foods, to create healthy communities," stated Food Bank of Northen Indiana Executive Director and CEO Marijo Martinec.
This is the 11th year that Martin's Supermarkets and Miller Poultry have teamed up and donated on average, 12,000 pounds of chicken a year.
