Mike Brey holds press conference to discuss departure from Notre Dame basketball

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - Mike Brey, men's basketball coach at the University of Notre Dame, discussed his departure from the team at the end of the season during a press conference on Friday.

During the presser, Brey reflected on his time with the Irish, saying 72 men have finished their degrees during Brey's tenure and that he considers all 72 his sons.

The legacy, for him, is the players.

The initial announcement detailing Brey's departure did not say Brey is retiring.

However, Brey clarified that he is retiring from coaching at Notre Dame but may not be done coaching young people in general.

He said he doesn't know what's next but is looking forward to it.
