Michigan Street and Chippewa Avenue roundabout to temporarily close in South Bend

SOUTH BEND. Ind. - The Michigan Street and Chippewa Avenue roundabout will close overnight for striping beginning Tuesday, May 30, at 9:00 p.m.

The roundabout is expected to open on Wednesday at 5:00 a.m. and close overnight again Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. to reopen at 5 a.m. the following day, weather permitting.

Through traffic will not be permitted during the closure. Access to local residences and businesses will be maintained from side streets.

Northbound traffic on Michigan Street will detour east on Ireland Road, north on Ironwood Drive and west on Lincoln Way East.

Southbound traffic will detour west on Ewing Avenue, south on Main Street and east on Ireland Road.
