MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- The Michigan City Police Department reports a woman was arrested on Feb. 20 following an extensive investigation by the La Porte County Drug Task Force (LCDTF), an Indiana and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Police say that on February 2 as well as February 9 two fatal overdoses happened which prompted LCDTF and the DEA to expand and accelerate their investigation efforts.

38-year-old Ashley Coleman was quickly found to be connected and was charged with two counts of Dealing Resulting in Death, a Level 1 Felony, and one count of Dealing in a Narcotic Drug, a Level 3 Felony.

Coleman is currently in custody at the LaPorte County Jail and is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.
