Michiana animal shelters participating in national 'Empty the Shelters' adoption event

A number of animal shelters across Indiana are participating in the national 'Empty the Shelter" event, which encourages pet adoptions by reducing fees for a select number of days.
The South Bend Animal Resource Center, Humane Society of St. Joseph County, Humane Society of Elkhart County and Fulton County Animal Shelter are all participating in this year's event.
From May 1 through 15, the BISSELL Pet Foundation will sponsor reduced adoption fees or $50 or less.
Each organization follows its own adoption procedures and will need to be contacted individually to find specific requirements.
