Gov. Braun announces SNAP benefits replacement for those living in some storm-impacted local ZIP codes

ABC 57 INDIANAPOLIS -- New state support is coming for some families impacted by recent catastrophic storms.
Indiana governor Mike Braun announced the replacement of SNAP benefits for families in several local ZIP codes. The move follows approval of a state request to the federal government.
The local ZIP codes to receive this aid are:
- La Porte County: 46340, 46345, 46346, 46348, 46350, 46360, 46365, 46371, 46382, 46390, 46391, 46532, 46552, 46574
- Pulaski County:
The replacements approved are based on the day SNAP recipients received their allotments prior to the storm:
- August 5, 2026, through August 9, 2026: Replacement Percentage - 60%
- July 19, 2026, through July 23, 2026: Replacement Percentage - 30%
- July 11, 2026, through July 17, 2026: Replacement Percentage - 15%
The governor's office said the replacement benefits will be added directly to EBT cards; SNAP recipients do not need to take additional action.
