ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart residents are invited to meet with city leaders and enjoy an evening of food and activities for the whole family at "City Hall in the Park" Thursday at Roosevelt Park.

City officials say Elkhart departments and community resources will also be in attendance.

“Our first City Hall in the Park event was a huge success, with residents from across the neighborhood coming out to connect with their city,” said Mayor Roberson. “Being accessible has always been a priority for my administration, and the strong turnout is a testament to how important that accessibility is to our residents.”

Organizers say the free event provides an opportunity for residents to connect with elected officials, city departments, learn about programs and services, ask questions, share ideas, and discuss local issues.

There will be activities for children, free hot dogs, and the chance to win prizes donated by Elkhart restaurants and businesses.

Roosevelt Park is located at 1508 Prairie St., and the event is from 6-8 p.m.

A third "City Hall in the Park" will be held at Walker Park at 3419 E. Bristol St. from 6-8 p.m. on Sept. 17.
