Many cities go ahead with Trick or Treating Thursday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Despite the weather, several towns are going ahead with Trick or Treating Thursday night. Benton Harbor, Goshen, Elkhart, Mishawaka and South Bend decided not to postpone Trick or Treating.

With the rainy weather, South Bend Police say you and your children should use caution and common sense while out Thursday night.

They say you should trick or treat in familiar neighborhoods, visit houses that are well lit and travel in groups.

Make sure you have a flashlight for once it gets dark and stay on sidewalks to stay safe.

Some kids say despite the rain, they will be trick or treating.

"I think it's going to be fun to go even though it's raining because the candy is worth it," said one Trick or Treater.

"Who cares about the rain? Candy is much better than that. We're getting pumped, going to be a good time, going to have some fun," said Brandon.
