Man sentenced for Possession of a Machine Gun in 2024 case

Jacob Joshua Pittman SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Court documents from St. Joseph County reveal Jacob Joshua Pittman was sentenced to 6 years in prison for Possession of a Machine Gun, a Level 5 Felony.
This resulted from a plea agreement in connection with a July 28, 2024, shooting in the 1300 block of Bissell Street that wounded four people.
Vehicles and homes were damaged by the shooting as well.
South Bend Police Department Crime Scene Technicians verified over 200 rounds were fired from multiple firearms.
Besides Pittman, there were three other suspects including Deshon Gates, Termel Reid, and Giovanni Tuggle.
Pittman was given 5 years and 314 days of suspension for his sentence and 51 days of jail credit.
Pittman's charge of Criminal Recklessness committed with a deadly weapon, a Level 6 Felony, was dismissed.
