Man charged with Domestic Battery, OWI, Resisting Law Enforcement Tuesday night
La Porte County Sheriff\'s Office LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- A man has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies following a domestic disturbance in the 800-east black of C.R. 860 South.
The La Porte County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a residence regarding a domestic disturbance involving a weapon.
Deputies learned the suspect, 29-year-old Tradvyon E. Hamblin of Hamlet, had left the residence prior to their arrival.
Authorities were told he left in a black Chrysler after witnesses said he'd been arguing with his girlfriend inside the car while in the driveway.
Witnesses said they attempted to de-escalate the situation and while doing so, Hamblin allegedly exited the car before physically assaulting an individual while in possession of a firearm.
The report states that's when he left in the vehicle with his girlfriend.
The suspect vehicle was later located in the 5200-south block of Wozniak Road where it crashed.
Hamblin and his girlfriend were found at the scene.
Hamblin was taken into custody at which point, deputies say he became argumentative and refused to comply.
Documents state Hamblin forcibly resisted being placed in a patrol vehicle.
At that point deputies say he was "escorted to the ground."
An additional set of restraints was placed on Hamblin and secured in a patrol vehicle.
A black-and-red Ruger LCP .380 pistol was also found in a field where Hamblin was initially located.
He was then taken to the La Porte County Jail.
Hamblin is charged with Intimidation w/a Deadly Weapon, a Level 5 Felony, Intimidation, a Level 6 Felony, two counts of Domestic Battery, Level 6 Felonies, Resisting Law Enforcement, a Class A Misdemeanor, OWI – Endangerment, a Class A Misdemeanor, and OWI – Per Se, a Class C Misdemeanor.
Hamblin remains in jail, held on a $15,000 cash-only bond.
