Man arrested at Goshen Hospital faces multiple charges including Arson

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Court documents from Elkhart County reveal 30-year-old Jeremiah Valencourt was arrested at Goshen Hospital Tuesday morning.
Valencourt is charged with Arson, a Level 4 Felony, Intimidation, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Criminal Mischief, a Class B Misdemeanor.
The Goshen Police Department reports dispatch received a call around 10:56 a.m., regarding Valencourt yelling, being aggressive, punching and kicking the walls and doors, and threatening to burn the hospital down.
Police say Valencourt became aggressive after hospital staff refused to give him a DNA test.
Valencourt allegedly wanted a DNA test due to issues with his mother.
Witnesses say Valencourt stated the hospital would pay for not giving him the DNA test and said, "Everyone and everything medical will burn."
He was found to have a lighter and Axe body spray deodorant in his pockets.
Police say Valencourt did damage the carpet and wall in the Sycamore Hall of the hospital. Luckily the fire didn't keep burning.
The damage to the carpet is estimated to cost around $250 while the repair, replacement, and repaint of the wall are estimated at around $300.
