Man accused of leading pursuit, committing recent thefts in Goshen
GOSHEN, Ind. – A man was arrested on Thursday after allegedly leading police on a pursuit that ended with the suspect burglarizing a home, the Goshen Police Department reported.
While investigating recent thefts on Thursday, officers attempted a welfare check on a person found slumped over in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle in Roxbury Park.
When an officer contacted the man, he suddenly drove away, allegedly leading officers on a pursuit by vehicle and on foot, reports said.
The suspect then entered an unlocked home and burglarized it, according to reports.
Austin Inbody, 23, of Elkhart, was arrested inside the home.
He was incarcerated for burglary and resisting law enforcement.
After Inbody was arrested, investigators found evidence that tied him to a large number of damaged car windows and recent thefts in or around Roxbury, Briarwood, Brookside, and Cedarbrook, reports said.
This is an ongoing investigation.
