Malone sentenced to 21 years in death of De'Ashay Thompson

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The man who shot and killed De'Ashay Thompson at a gas station in March 2020 has been sentenced to 21 years in prison.

Anthony Malone was sentenced to 6 years for reckless homicide and 15 years for a firearm sentencing enhancement.

Malone was charged with murder but was found guilty of reckless homicide in August 2021. He was sentenced on Monday.

He received credit for nearly 500 days time served.
